Local Beef For Locals
Our Beef is 100% local, USDA certified, and we as producers are certified through the beef quality assurance (BQA) program. Sourced from our ranch and from other local established ranch families in the Calhan area. We intake and process them as calves and send them to graze on local pastures all over the area. You have likely driven past them grazing in the field. Once they are big enough we bring them back to our feed yard to gain weight and give you that delicious taste. Unlike the beef you buy at the grocery store, we can track the lives of these cattle from birth to beef box. Our beef is guaranteed free from antibiotics and hormones because we know every shot and treatment of every animal from birth. The Carpenter family has been ranching on the same ranch for over 100 years. If you take the experience from the other families we source cattle from, there is over 300 years of collective experience putting beef on your plate.
How it Works
Our beef boxes make healthy protein available and affordable. Most ranch to table producers market beef in halves and wholes. (which is great if you have room for hundreds of pounds of meat.) Studies show most Americans have room in their freezers for 40 pounds of meat. The Colorado ranch to plate act made it possible to purchase "shares" of beef direct from local ranchers. By purchasing our beef boxes you are purchasing shares in a beef. Once your beef is purchased you can come pick it up from the ranch for no charge (with appointment).
